It is with deep sorrow that we learn that Don Aldo Natale Terrin, a distinguished member of FOB's Scientific Committee, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, 9 January 2024.

Don Aldo Natale Terrin, priest of the Diocese of Padua, was born in Sandon on 23 December 1941 and was ordained to the priesthood on 8 July 1965. He was appointed as a teacher at the Minor Seminary of Thiene for secondary school. In the following months he also became a cooperator during the festivities in Roana (February-August 1966) and in Montegalda (August 1966-October 1967).

In October 1967 he was destined for studies and began the long adventure that would lead him to dedicate his life to teaching and research. Initially a guest of the Milanese parish of Santa Maria Liberatrice, then of the Domus nostra in Via Necchi, he graduated in Philosophy of Religion at the Catholic University of Milan and in Theology of Religions at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan. She studied the history of religions, Sanskrit and Oriental religions at Münster. Having studied the new religious movements in many countries in Europe and the United States, he visited countries such as Japan, Korea and India to gain a better understanding of the new religions.

He taught History of Religions at the Catholic University of Milan, Cultural Anthropology at the University of Urbino and Phenomenology of Religion at the Santa Giustina Institute of Pastoral Liturgy in Padua.

There are dozens of publications, articles and collaborations dedicated to the religious phenomena as they relate to religious anthropology.
